Vanished in Georgia: The Mysterious Disappearance of Portia Nesbitt

Portia Lakendra Nesbitt began dating Chadwick Washington as soon as he was released from prison in 2019.

Chadwick had a history of domestic violence, battery, stalking, and theft, so needless to say, not everyone in Portia’s inner circle was happy with her choice.

In 2020, she was living with Chadwick in Waynesboro, Georgia. Because she stayed pretty isolated from family and friends, it’s hard to say what was going on in Portia’s life at that time.

She was so isolated, that in the summer of 2021, her family started realizing that no one had seen or heard from Portia in quite some time.

Efforts to track Portia down were unsuccessful.

That July, her family called authorities to report her missing. It was then they backtracked and did some research, only to discover that no one had heard from her in over a year.

Portia’s story isn’t an isolated one. Looking through missing person reports across the U.S. and Canada, there are hundreds just like hers.
