On January 23, 1999, Teekah Lewis was an innocent, shy, adorable little 2-year-old girl. She was a mama’s girl through and through. If another family member or friend tried to hold her or even came too close to her, Teekah would cry and scream. She only wanted her mom. She was beautiful, with distinctive features as she had an ethnic background of Caucasian, Black, and Native American.

Teekah’s mother, Theresa Lewis, had five children in 1999. That cold winter evening in January, Theresa, her children, and some other relatives went to the Frontier Lanes Bowling Alley. It was a rare night out for the busy family.

It was also league night, a Saturday, and pretty crowded. Like many bowling alleys, this one had a small arcade, a bar, and a restaurant area and this evening, in particular, was super busy.

Teekah had been playing a few yards away from where the family was bowling, at the foot of a video game machine, which was also only a few feet from a side door entrance. Theresa turned to watch her son bowl. After he bowled, she turned back to check on Teekah, expecting her to still be at the video game. She was not.
