The Unsolved Disappearance of Bethany Markowski
Bethany Markowski called her mom, Jonnie, at 9:38 a.m. on Sunday morning March 4, 2001. She told her mom she’d see her later that afternoon, and after saying their I love you’s, they hung up the phone.
Bethany was on a weekend visit with her dad, Larry. Her second one after a formal visitation was scheduled from the courts- due to the pending divorce. Jonnie was uneasy about it, but she had no choice but to allow it.
Jonnie’s sister, and Bethany’s aunt, Lori- would be heading over to pick up Bethany from Larry later that afternoon.
Upon arriving, Lori learned that Bethany had walked into a mall in Jackson, Tennessee, and had vanished. Bethany would not be seen again.
