The OCA (Office of Child Advocacy) in Massachusetts has released its findings after a long investigation into the care that Harmony Montgomery received while in Massachusetts.
As a reminder, Harmony Montgomery was reported missing in December of 2021. It was then realized that no one had actually seen her since 2019.
Harmony, born in 2014, was under the care of DCF in Massachusetts since she was an infant, going back and forth between her mother’s care and the care of a foster family. Harmony’s mother, Crystal, wanted to be a mother to Harmony, however, she struggled on and off with addiction issues.
Harmony’s father- Adam Montgomery- was incarcerated when she was born and had occasional supervised visits after his release.
Imagine the shock as we learn that while Crystal was working through ‘action plans’ and going through guidance with DCF to get custody of Harmony back, in 2018 Adam would suddenly petition the court for custody- and he would get it.
In 2019, Harmony went to live with her dad in New Hampshire. This report details what happened with Harmony’s case throughout the duration she was in Massachusetts.
