Camden Sylvia couldn’t wait to move to New York City after she graduated High School, and in 1979, that’s exactly what she did.

Camden was an artist and a creative and loved city life.

She eventually would move in with a boyfriend, Michael Sullivan, and the two lived in a loft apartment in the Wall Street area of New York City.

They felt lucky at first. They found a rent-controlled apartment that was rented for just $300 in 1997.

But soon they discovered there were more problems with their affordable apartment than they realized, and struggles with the landlord began.

And they weren’t the only ones. In fact, many tenants in the building banded together to demand some changes or they threatened a rent strike.

On November 7, 1997, the couple went out to rent a movie in the afternoon. When they returned to their apartment, they laced up their running shoes to go for a run together, something they did frequently.

But Camden and Michael would never come back from that run. The couple hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
