Cameron was born on July 30, 1982, and was the youngest of four siblings. His family moved around a bit, but always stayed in California.

As Cameron grew into a young adult, he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, a digestive disorder that prevented him from absorbing nutrients and gaining weight. He was also diagnosed as Bipolar psychotic and was on medication to help with the hallucinations.

In 2011, a 29-year-old Cameron got the idea to start a medical marijuana business.

On September 29, 2011, Cameron flew to San Francisco with 60–70 packs of his marijuana and about $30,000 in cash.

He checked into the Fairmont Hotel.

On October 6, 2011, he called a friend to discuss a place he could possibly live in the San Francisco area. It seemed Cameron wanted to move there, possibly permanently. A little while later, Cameron called this friend back and said never mind, he found a place.

He didn’t indicate where that place was.

He left the Fairmont Hotel and left his belongings with the bellman at the hotel.
