Lost Girl: The Unsolved Disappearance of Deniese Hiraman

Sometimes you come across a case that just screams injustice. And this case is one of them.

When a 13-year-old girl disappears on her way to school one morning, the entire city should be out looking for her. Everyone should know she is missing, and everyone should know her face. If someone sees her, the police should be called immediately.

But that isn’t what happened in the case of Deniese Hiraman. Deniese was just 13 years old when she vanished.

Deniese left her home on the morning of August 27, 1999, to walk to school for the day, as she had done so many times before.

Deniese would not make it to school, however, and Deniese would never be seen or heard from again.

Where is Deniese Hiraman?

Deniese was born on October 6, 1985. She was of Guyanese descent, and lived in Queens, New York- specifically the part of town known as “Little Guyana”.

Deniese’s family was from Guyana- a small country in South America, located just north of Brazil. Guyana as a country, or more accurately- a republic- is made up of several nationalities…
